Sesvenna Hutte to S-charl

June 27, 2008 I left the Sesvenna Hutte at 8:15a and followed the trail marked Fuorcla Sesvenna. The trail led across sloping pastures up to Lago Sesvenna about an hour from the hutte (2638m – 8655ft) (9:15a). From the lake the rose steeply through snow fields and rocky benches to the Fuorcla Sesvenna (2819m – 9249ft) (9:15a). Here I took time to rest and enjoy the view of Piz Sesvenna (3204m – 10,512ft). The trail from the pass alternated between grassy hillside, snowfields and scree slopes for about two and a half hours before passing by the little farm Alpe Sesvenna (2098m – 6883ft) (12:15p). The woman who ran the farm was very gracious and bought me a bowl of wonderful pea soup and milk with ginger and honey added to drink. What an unexpected treat!. From the Alpe it was but a pleasant walk down to S-charl (1910m – 6266ft) (1:15p) where I checked into the Crusch Alba Hotel.
