July 15, 2008 CONTINUATION The route from the Rifugio Auronzo started straight out east along a wide jeep track that skirted the south side of the Tre Cime (Tre Cime di Lavaredo). The track passed by the Cappella d Alpini (2314m – 7592ft) (10:15a). The track continued on for a short distance until reaching the Rifugio Lavaredo (2344m – 7690ft) (10:45a). I followed the scree track steeply up the hillside north of the rifugio and reached the Forcela Lavaredo (2457m – 8061ft) (11:00a) at the eastern foot of the Tre Cime. From the forcela I crossed scree and rocky slopes to the Rifugio Tre Cime A. Locatelli (2405m – 7890ft) (11:20a). I then took the trail marked 101 to the Forcela Pian di Cengia. The trail traversed a broad rocky basin before turning and heading up a scree filled gully to the Forcela Pian di Cengia (2522m – 8244ft) (12:15p).
