July 19, 2008 CONCLUSION I left the Giogo Sissanis and followed the trail down the grassy ridge overlooking the lake. The trail then made a traverse through a beautiful high alpine swales between rock knolls and on around to Passo Giramondo (2005m – 6578ft) 10:00a) where it once again crossed the Austrian/Italian border into Austria. Once the trail crossed the pass it descended past World War I fortification and tunnels and circled around a rocky rib into the Obere Wolayer Alpe, a broad grassy valley. I continued across the alpe and climbed the opposite side to the Pichl Hutte (6462ft) (11:50a), perched above the picturesque Wolayer See.
